A change in activity due to foot pain can also weaken the muscles that support your knees, exacerbating the problem.

Some options often shown are cortisone injections, off the shelf orthotics, ineffective stretching, the wrong shoes or simply rolling on a frozen water bottle.

 

These methods are either ineffective or just short-term band-aids, and do not provide long-term correction.
